Over two years ago, Compassion Christian Church was making plans to send their first project team to Seeds of Hope. After supporting Seeds of Hope financially for almost a decade, they were devastated to be forced to postpone the trip in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite having to reschedule three different times, the team was committed to making the trip a reality. Last week, after over two years of planning, they were finally able to visit Jericho!
“Not only did Compassion send a project team, but they have stood with us financially and helped make the school expansion possible,” said Khader Ghanim, Seeds of Hope CEO. “Their presence and support have impacted many individuals in Jericho. We could not continue doing what we do without partners and friendships like we have with Compassion.”
Over the week they were in Jericho, the team spent time in the school engaging with students and facilitating STEM activities in our classrooms. They also took on a construction project to help improve living conditions for a local widow.
“Project teams add so much life and value to our work in Jericho,” said Fuad Jaddou, Community Outreach Director at Seeds of Hope. “Their presence allows us to be creative with new ideas and opportunities as we work together to impact Jericho.”
Check out a little bit of what their team had to say about the experience:
“It’s wonderful to host teams like the one from Compassion,” said Fuad. “To talk with people who believe in what we’re doing and help support us in so many ways—words can’t express how encouraging it is!”
If you’re interested in bringing a project team to Jericho to experience Seeds of Hope firsthand, we would love to talk with you! Contact us for more information. But whether you visit in person, support us financially, or partner with us in prayer from around the world, we wouldn’t have the impact and opportunities we do without you. Thank you for your commitment to creating lasting generational change in the Middle East!
