It’s been almost a month since terrible violence disrupted life in the Holy Land, and while the uncertainty continues, we are finding ways to move forward and offer help. Thanks to your generosity—both now and in the past—we’re positioned to make an incredible impact on those in need in our area.

Through our partnership with Emmanuel Church in nearby Bethlehem, we’ve been able to offer humanitarian aid to civilians fleeing south from Gaza. Groups of hundreds of predominantly Christian refugees, many of whom left with just the clothes on their backs, are taking refuge in churches.

Thanks to your quick response to our call for help, we were able to work through our local connections to provide two meals a day for over 900 people. We also helped provide 300 mattresses and 200 blankets, along with toiletries and toilet paper. We’re grateful to have the resources and relationships in place to jump in and help so quickly when there are people in need nearby.

The mood in Jericho is somber. There isn’t the usual life in the streets, bustling restaurants, or family celebrations. Travel is restricted, and most businesses are closed. Every adult is feeling the economic pressure and the stress of a very uncertain future. With more and more families out of work, we’re planning to do a local food distribution soon to help support local grocers and help families keep food on their tables.

At Seeds of Hope School, we were fortunate to keep meeting in person for as long as possible, but a few days ago, all schools moved to online learning. While we know it will be difficult for children and families who are already suffering, thanks to your prior generosity, we were ready. You have donated the tablets, computers, and technological infrastructure for both our students and teachers to keep working at home. Just like during the pandemic, Seeds of Hope is one of the few schools prepared and equipped to move online and keep prioritizing our students’ education.

Now, more than ever, we are committed to keeping our school going because we see the importance of the values and messages we teach at Seeds of Hope. We tell our students they can be leaders and make a positive change in and for their country. We show them how they can peacefully share their opinions and how to navigate conflict with love and empathy.

We’re determined to continue being the hope and light our community needs, and we’re grateful that we’re not doing it alone. Your generosity has already made a profound difference for hundreds of people in the darkest moments of their lives.

As we work toward another opportunity to provide aid through a local food distribution, we’d love to invite you to partner with us. Using the button below, we’ve created a Humanitarian Aid fund that will go directly to these needs. We can’t say thank you enough!
