Partnership in Action

Last week we had another incredible visit from a project team sent by one of our Seeds of Hope church partners. After over two years of not being able to have any project teams visit, each team still feels like a gift to our staff.

Our latest project team was from Compassion Christian Church based in Savannah, Georgia, USA. Like many of our partners, our relationship with Compassion has grown and strengthened over the years. They have been generous supporters of our new school expansion and have sent several project teams to do valuable work over the years.

Their team spent a busy two weeks serving in Jericho and visiting the Holy Land. Check out a little of what they accomplished:

Shine Program

The Compassion team planned an incredible day of fun and education open to women from nearby refugee camps and neighborhoods. They facilitated classes on infant and child first aid and parenting for about 35 women. Afterward, they provided jewelry making and crafts for all the women to do together to enjoy quality time and conversation as a group.

Open Day at The Sister’s School

Each year, we help with a one-day camp for our friends at The Sister’s School—a Franciscan Catholic school nearby and one of our oldest partnerships in Jericho. The team from Compassion knocked it out of the park with fun games and activities for over 250 children that helped us continue to build great relationships with other religious organizations in our community.

Elderly Home Visit

The Jericho Social Affairs Ministry has a home for the elderly that the team visited. They spent time with the residents putting on activities and helping with essential repairs to wheelchairs and mobility equipment.

“To have a glimpse of what life is like in Jericho through our experience last week opened our eyes and hearts to what Seeds of Hope really stands for.”

-Kelly, Compassion Team Leader

School Visit

The team from Compassion got to see what their support helped create during their visit to the Seeds of Hope school. Part of what makes our school special is the time our children get to spend with visitors from other cultures and backgrounds. It’s always a fun and educational experience and shows our students a little more of the world outside of Jericho.

Staff Fun Day

One of our favorite parts of the team’s visit was the day they invested in our Seeds of Hope team. This time was such an encouragement to our Christian staff as we played, laughed, and spent time in prayer and fellowship together. Having teams visit and link arms with our staff in this way reminds our team that they have so many partners and supporters who are on this journey with them and investing in the mission of Seeds of Hope.
